Arturas Slapsys
The artwork of Arturas Slapsys has touched my soul more than I ever thought imaginable. Born in 1962 in the City of Kaunas, Lithuania, Arturas began painting at a very young age. During his educational experience, including his time spent at The Kaunas University of Technology, Arturas began to experiment with his artistic craft. Early on in his career he began painting with water colors, which then grew into acrylic and oil paint. His collection of paintings has not only reached regional collectors in the Ukraine, Lithuania and Great Britain, but upon his move to the United States in 1996, Arturas touched a vast majority of individuals in every corner of the country. Arturas has received several awards for his creativity from many prominent agencies. In 2010 the Lithuanian Postal Service issued two post stamps, “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year”, both of which were designed by Arturas. Again in 2011, his country of birth again awarded a third post stamp, “The 775th Anniversary of the Battle of Saule”. Of all the artwork I have collected over the past 25 years, I will always cherish and hold in high regard several original pieces I have purchased from his collection.

I’ve been studying ancient history for sometime now, especially the Golden Age of Greece. When I came across the ancient greek warriors collection by Arturas Slapsys, I was in awe. The great detail and powerful impressions had me mesmerized, so much so, I acquired a few pieces for my collection. Arturas Slapsys is one of the most underrated artists of his time.
