I am an experienced portrait artist with a background in fine art. I love drawing and painting people and I want to give people a portrait that is unique and to bring out the individual personality of each person I paint. My goal is to create something both beautiful and well-crafted that will be enjoyed for years while also being aware of the influence of contemporary art on portrait painting. Portrait painting is part of a long tradition that is still alive and changing and I want to bring that into every portrait I create. I have my own style and seek to bring a contemporary look to this traditional practice.

Portraits are oil on canvas.

I also do portraits in pencil and charcoal (can be drawn from life or from a photograph)

What to include in your request:

1. size of your desired portrait

2. photo(s) that I will use to paint your portrait

3. description of anything extra you would like in your portrait that is not already in the photo

For best results, the photograph should be well lit. Before accepting any commission I will have to approve the photograph.

I also can do portraits drawn from life (for pencil only) if you live in the Southern California area.

If there is a size not listed above that you are interested in, please include a request for that specific size.
