Rick Corbett (b. 1969) is an emerging artist who currently resides in Woburn, Massachusetts. He is inspired not only by other artists but from life itself. He is inspired by people, textures, smells, sounds, all of his senses seem to come alive when he draws. He often says that his drawings take him on an artistic journey of self discovery. That he feels his soul awaken when he draws. GOD has given him a gift and it’s a gift he hopes to use to bring people closer together. It’s a gift that he hopes to use to capture the beauty that’s in this World. He doesn't want his drawings to simply be pictures drawn on pieces of paper – he wants his drawings to be a celebration of life.

My drawings usually takes anywhere between 20 - 200 hours to complete depending on the size and the amount of details being drawn.

My drawings are created in pencil. I have been asked why? Why don't I just paint? Well, for me the answer is simple. I love how a pencil can create different tones just by changing the pressure of my hand. I can get deep rich darks by applying more pressure and I can get a soft subtle gray by applying lighter pressure. I love impact and drama in my work. For me, I can achieve that best using a pencil. I truly believe that a pencil is just as much a fine art tool as a paint brush, and I hope to prove that in my work. Plus, I don't have to worry about toxic chemicals or cleanup. I can draw anywhere and any time I want without needing a lot of space or vented areas.

The fees above is for one subject head and shoulders, please add $50.00 for each additional subject. If you would like to add a background, full body, or a size larger than 14 x 17, please contact me for details.

I accept credit cards (through PayPal), checks, and cash. Before I begin any drawing, I request a 50% downpayment in order to schedule the portrait. I will mail/E-mail you an invoice. Reference photos can be emailed to me at rick@rickcorbettart.com.

I will send scanned work in progress (WIP) images throughout my process showing the portrait in various stages of completion. Once the portrait is complete, I will send a final watermarked image for review and approval. Once the final portrait is approved, the final 50% payment is due. I will mail/E-mail you an invoice. Once the final payment is made, the portrait will be sprayed with fixative (to prevent smudging and yellowing of the paper) and prepared for shipping/delivery.

Note: Portraits are unframed, if you would like the portrait framed and matted, please include an additional $60.00 to the portrait price.
